The Zamfara State Government has received over 55, 920 doses of the Astrazenica COVID 19 vaccines.
Inspecting the vaccines at the Drugs and Consumables Cold Room Central Store Samaru Gusau, the state commissioner of Yahaya Mohammed kanoma
expressed the commitment of the State towards ensuring that it’s citizens are vaccinated.
He disclosed that a total of 27,960 people would receive the vaccine in the state adding that, the vaccine would be administered to persons of 18-year-old and above across the state
Kanoma further revealed that the first persons to receive the corona virus vaccines would be the state front liners which includes; health workers, traditional rulers, government officials,fuel pumps attenders, journalists among others.
According to him, some medical personal are presently undergoing training on how to administer the vaccine as soon as the training is concluded they would begin their assignment.
The Commissioner also applauded UNICEF and the WHO for their efforts towards ensuring that the vaccines get to the states, describing their role as critical and timely.
He further explained that adequate arrangements have been made towards storing the vaccines by ensuring adequate supply of electricity adding their cold rooms are 24 hours with electricity and two stand bye generators as well as solar powered energy.
