The Senate leader Abdullahi Yahaya said that the problem of insecurity from incessant clashes between Herders and farmers across the country, would be one of the issues to be debated on when the senate resumes session from its Christmas break, with a view to finding lasting solution to it .
Addressing Newsmen in Abuja,Senator Yahaya , said a motion for the debate on Farmers/ Herders clashes , particularly the recent ones that happened in Ondo and Oyo States are to be considered .
According to him , the problem , requires a local solution which can be given by respective state government and Local Government Councils .
He explained that the Senate is disturbed that such crises in addition to armed banditry and Boko Haram insurgency , remained unabated .
On the Confirmation of the former Service Chiefs , for Ambassadorial nominees , he said the Communications for the confirmation would be read by the Senate president on resumption and would be referred to the committee on foreign affairs which will guide the senate on the next step.
