The indefinite strike action embarked upon upon by organised labour in Niger state over salary related matters has been suspended.
The agreement was reached at a round table discussion between representatives of organised labour and Niger state government in Minna.
A statement signed by Chairman Nigeria Labour Congress NLC Niger state chapter Comrade Yakubu Garba and his Trade Union Congress TUC counterpart Comrade Tanimu Yunusa directed workers to report to their respective work places tomorrow Wednesday.
It however expressed appreciation to it’s members as well as the entire Nigerlites for what they described as demonstrating unflinching support and solidarity during the indefinite strike.
In his remarks Niger state Commissioner of Information and Strategy Alh Mohd Sani Idris applauded leadership of organised labour for their understanding during the negotiations which paved way for the suspension of six day strike.
Alh Mohd Sani Idris pointed out that Niger state government will continue to accord priority to the welfare of it’s Civil Servants while assuring that payment of salaries will remain as first line charge.
