The Minister of Justice and Attorney General of the Federation, Justice Abubakar Malami, has debunked a report on a daily newspaper claiming that, they have seen or rather gathered from market women or traders that, there were posters of the Minister of Justice Vying for the office of Governorship in 2023 every where in State Capital of Kebbi State.
The Minister who spoke through his Media Aid, Dr. Umar Jibrilu Gwandu, said this was a fictitious and mischievous report by the newspaper.
“We have gone round with members of the press, you must have seen by your self the story has no oater of truth, we have gone round the entire Birnin Kebbi, we have not seen any of such posters”.
The Minister however wants the general public to discredit the information and disregard it because it is mare figment of imagination and also calling on individuals who see this posters to come and testify that he has seen that or not.
According to the Minister, it is possible that, the Attorney General has a lot of supporters who like him and who have a lot of interest in him on a number of issues, saying there is no posters of him in Birnin Kebbi as far as today is concern, and who so ever has interest in him in contesting for any position, I think there is rule and guide line which you have to be abided by as far as electioneering is concern.
He pointed out that, it is not yet time for any campaign so he is not envisaging a situation whereby people will sit down fabricate lies and says that, they saw posters of someone vying for a position in a particular place.
It could be recalled that, early last year, the Minuster urges his supporters ti refrain from posting his posters for the 2023 Governorship campaign in the state.
