We are scaling up rice technologies and innovation to prevent increase in rice price – NCRI Bedeggi

The National Cereals Research Institute Badeggi in Niger state has said that it is scaling up rice technologies and innovation to prevent further increase in the prices of rice in Nigeria.

Executive Director of the Institute Alh Aliyu Umar said this at the CORAP_FAIRED inception and annual work plan review and implementation meeting for 2021 in Badeggi.

Represented by the Director and Head of Department Planning Monitoring and Evaluation unit Dr Emmanuel Adeji Maaji the Executive Director explained that this would improve rice production that will enable farmers meet up with the demand for rice in Nigeria.

Dr Aliyu Umar noted that the new innovation would also increase rice variety production for maximum benefits.

Coordinator of CORAP_PAIRED project Audu Sale Dogo said the partnership between them and National Cereals Research Institute Badeggi is to enhance food security and scale up already developed technology that has been lying low in the past.
