Jigawa state government says the ongoing verification exercise for civil servants and pensioners in the state has nothing to do with reducing its works force as being speculated.
The Head of civil service, Alhaji Hussaini Ali Kila made this known to newsmen in Dutse.
He said the aim of the exercise was to update the data records of the civil servants and pensioners to ensure prudent management of financial resources.
Also speaking, the acting Secretary salary and pension Board Mallam Yusha’u Abdu said there is rule under World Base System which gives a directive to verify the pay roll of civil servants every five years.
He added that only Bank Verification Number Passport and Thumbprint were needed to update the data of every civil servant and pensioner.
