Nasarawa State Government has provided 20,450 hectares of land in Toto Local Government Area of the state to Flour Mills of Nigeria to invest 300 million Dollars in the sugar production.
During signing of Memorandum of Understanding at the Nasarawa State Governor’s Lodge in Abuja, Governor Abdullahi Sule said the investment would provide job opportunities for over 20000 unemployed youths in the state.
He called on Flour Mills to ensure full implementation of the terms of the MoU for the benefit of the host communities where the company would be sited.
Group Managing Director of Flour Mills Nigeria, Mr Omoboyede Olusanya explained that 15,000 hectares of the land would be used for raw sugar production, while the remaing portion would be used to provide infrastructure, such as roads, schools and other essential amenities to the host communities.
Governors of Borno and Kwara states, Professor Babagana Zulum and Alhaji Abdulrahman AbdulRazaq as well as former governor of Adamawa State, Jibrilla Bindow where among the dignitaries that attended the signing of the MoU.
