Presidential panel charges Fed. University of Lafia on development

Presidential Visitation Panel to Federal University of Lafia in Nasarawa State has called on stakeholders to take ownership and step up efforts towards the development of the university.

Chairman of the Panel, Professor Abdullahi Alkali, made the call during a Town Hall Meeting with stakeholders at the Permanent Site of the University in Lafia the Nasarawa State capital.

Professor Alkali commended the government and people of Nasarawa State for their special interest in the university considering the infrastructure development of the institution within the short period it was established.

He explained that the Visitation Panel was at the university to look into the leadership quality of the school, especially the roles of the Governing Councils, the Vice Chancellor and other Principal Officers.

Professor Alkali stated that the panel would also investigate the application of funds, particularly the special grants and loans meant for specific projects in the university for further funding among others as mandated by the President.

Professor Alkali assured the stakeholders of carryout the exercise with due diligence in line with their mandate.
