Damaturu – Information filtering from Yobe State, North East, Nigeria has it that today, Tuesday, early morning at about 5.30 suspected elements of Boko Haram fighters stormed Katarko village located in Gujba Local Government where they succeeded in burning down a primary school and a healthcare center in the area.
According to a local, resident of the community, said, ” it began during the morning for prayers- when we observed unusual movement, there and then we decided to informed our neighbors, so without hesitation, all of us run into a nearby bush for safety.
“We later saw them going straight to the military formation shooting sporadically and later set the base on fire”
Katarko Village is a distance of 18 kilometers south of Damaturu, the state capital, the village suffered series of attacks carried out by the self-styled jihadist.
Though, efforts to contact the Acting Assistant Director, Army Public Relations of the Sector 2 Operation Lafiya Dole in Damaturu, proved abortive.
