University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital Association of Resident Doctors commenced warning strike

The University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital Association of Resident Doctors, (UITH-ARD) has commenced three days warning strike to protest worsened working condition of their members.

President of the ARD ,Dr Badmus Habeeb stated this during a Press Conference at the Teaching Hospital in Ilorin.

According to him about 100 doctors are exposed to COVID-19 since the beginning of the second wave of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Dr. Habeeb said the association decided to embark on the three days warning strike beginning from Feb. 3rd to Feb. 6th, to impress on the hospital management the gravity of the situation.

He explained that the supply of Personal Protective Equipment has been irregular and grossly inadequate, resulting in high rate of COVID-19 infection amongst doctors and staff.

Dr Habeeb maintained that hospital staff have resorted to re-using face masks at the risk of their health, families and patients.
