The Minister of Interior charged Nigerian Immigration Service to ensure effective border control

The Minister of Interior, Alhaji Rauf Aregbesola has charged the Nigerian Immigration Service NIS to do everything possible to ensure effective border control to stop Criminals from entering into the country.

He gave the charge during the commissioning of the newly Ultra Modern office complex of the Nigerian Immigration Service Command Headquarters Kaduna.

Alhaji Aregbesola called on the officers and men of the Service to be extra Vigilant as well as avoid activities that would undermine effective performance of their duty and the safety of the country.

He commended the Service for the gradual deployment of technology in their operation and thanked relavant stakeholders for their support toward ensuring border control.

The Minister applauded officer and men of the NIS especially the Comptroller General for always taking giant stride particularly the yet to be Commission Technology Building Command and control centre at the Headquarters in Abuja.

According to Aregbesola, the Center would be the hub of Migration Data Management and Analysis in Nigeria, stressing that from the technology building, staffs can be monitoring all borders and to Collect Data from everywhere.

He however commeded the management of the Nigeria Immigration Service on its firm resolve aimed at ensuring that, the command office complex are built in all the 36 States command of the service and the FCT.

Mr Ra’uf Aregbesola restated the federal government commitment to improving the public facilities and good working environment for officers and men across the country to enable them continue carry out their work in a safe and conducive atmosphere.

He expressed believe that, the office Complex would provide the needed comfort for officers and men of the command to function effectively without any excuse, urged them to plant more trees within the premises of the building.

Governor Nasiru Elrufai said Nigeria Immigration Service Kaduna Command has deserve commendation because in the last five years he has not heard any negative report about the conduct or performance of their officers in the State.

He noted that, the Nigerian Immigration Service was very helpful to the state government in it project of repatriating Almajiri Boys back to their state of destination as well as those that came from neighbouring countries.

The Comptroller General of Nigeria Immigration Service, Mohammed Babandede said the Nigerian Immigration Service came to Kaduna since 1966 and since then the service has been squatin .

Mr Babandede said the newly Ultra Modern Office Complex was build as the cost of two hundred and eight million naira, commeded Governor Nasiru for ensuring allocation of the land to the service.

He however promised to deliver it services to the people without any corruption or harassment, saying that, the command has commenced E-Migran registration with a view to know all the migrants in the country and what they are doing.
