The Federal Government says all financial commitment made towards the Abuja-Kaduna-Kano, AKK Gas Pipeline project will be sustained to ensure its timely completion for improved energy supply for the country and beyond.
The Minister of Finance, Budget and National Planning, Hajiya Zainab Ahmed gave the assurance when she in company of the Minister of State for Petroleum Resources and the Group Managing Director of the Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation inspected ongoing work of the AKK Gas Pipeline project in Kogi, Kaduna and Kano states.
Hajiya Zainab Ahmed who was impressed with the level of work being done at Ajaokuta, Karugo in Igabi Local Government Area of Kaduna state stretching up to Kano state said, efforts would be sustained in providing the finances needed for the completion of the project.
The Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Chief Timipre Sylva while commenting on the components of the project noted that, the nation was eagerly waiting for its completion describing it as one of the most significant projects that would open up businesses in all regions within the country and across Africa.
The Group Managing Director of the Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC, Mallam Mele Kyari earlier in his remarks said, it was work in progress; a task that must be delivered without fail and gave assurance of sustained efforts towards meeting the set target.
