The Emir of Dutse, Dr Nuhu Muhammadu Sunusi has advised the jigawa state ministry of Land, Housing, Urban Development and Regional Planning to come up with measures that will control development of illegal structures in Dutse metropolis.
The Emir gave the advice when he received the Commissioner of the ministry, Alhaji Sagir Musa Ahmad who paid him a courtesy call in his Palace.
According to him, the ministry should ensure that people comply with standard guidelines governing development of structures within the state capital.
Dr Nuhu Muhammadu Sunusi enjoined the ministry to provide adequate land for the construction of mosques, schools and other public utilities while establishing a layout for housing projects.
Earlier, the Commissioner of Land, Housing, Urban Development and Regional Planning, Alhaji Sagir Musa Ahmad said he was in the palace to inform the Emir that the federal government will soon build eight thousand housing units across the state.
The commissioner therefore solicited for the support and cooperation of traditional institutions in order to achieve the desired goals.
