Speaker of the Niger state House of Assembly Barrister Abdullahi Bawa Wuse has been advised to resign his position

Speaker of the Niger state House of Assembly Barrister Abdullahi Bawa Wuse has been advised to resign his position honourably for not guiding his colleagues on relevant laws of the house.

Former Director Administration Niger state Television Corporation and Special Assistant to Niger state Governor on Grassroot Mobilisation Alh Adamu Abdullahi Lambata gave the advice while addressing Newsmen in Minna.

The house had in a resolution directed for suspension of nine councillors in addition to Vice Chairman of the Council while the embatled Chairman Suleiman Dauda Chukuba be reinstated.

Reacting to this decision Alh Adamu Abdullahi Lambata said Governor Abubakar Sani Bello has set up a commission of enquiry to look into crisis rocking Shiroro local government council where two third majority of councillors impeached the former Chairman.

Alh Adamu Abdullahi Lambata wondered why the Commission of Enquiry has not yet submitted it’s report only to see members of Niger state House of Assembly passing a resolution and directing the Governor to disband that Commission of enquiry.

He however stressed the need for them to respect the Governor whom he described as a respecter of law.

In a swift reaction Chairman Niger State House of Assembly committee on Information and Chief Whip Alh Musa Idris Vatsa explained that the house committee on local government Services and Chieftaincy Affairs has commenced such hearing before the setting up of Commission of Enquiry by Governor Abubakar Sani Bello.

Alh Musa Idris Vatsa therefore described calls for the resignation of Speaker Barrister Abdullahi Bawa Wuse as unwarranted and uncalled for stressing that they have acted within their jurisdiction.

The Commission of Enquiry set up by Governor Abubakar Sani Bello on Shiroro crisis is expected to submit it’s report soon.
