Seven persons including five military officers allegedly killed by armed bandits in Niger state.

Seven persons including five military officers have been allegedly killed by armed bandits in Shiroro local government council of Niger state.

The bandits also abducted over ten people burnt down military vehicle and went away with some motorcycles.

Some community members were said to have scampered for safety during the attack which took place yesterday night to about two o’clock in the morning.

It was learnt that the bandits in their large number stormed the camp of Joint Security Task Force of Army Police Civil Defense and Vigilantes at Alawa village and open fire on them killing five soldiers and one Civil Defense officer while many sustain various degrees of injuries.

Eye witness told Radio Nigeria that the bandits have yesterday attacked Manta Gurnana and Bassa village where they killed one Alh Sale of Madalla community in Bassa village and kidnapped four others.

President Shiroro Youths Movement Mohd Sani Idris who confirmed the incident said the bandits numbering one hundred each carrying Ak47 rifle attacked each community for about five hours un challenged.

All efforts to contact the Police for comment has failed.
