The senate has passed to third reading a bill for an act to establish the National Agricultural Development Fund

The passage came shortly after the Senate received and considered the report of the committee of Agriculture and rural development lead by senator Abdullahi Adamu from Nasarawa west

Presenting the report at the Senate plenary this Wednesday the chairman of the committee senator Abdullahi Adamu explained that the purpose of the establishment of the fund is to provide finance to support the strategic aspect of agricultural Development in Nigeria

He observed that to date Nigeria is yet to fully implements the 2003 MAPUTO Declaration in agriculture which requires states parties to allocate 10 percent of it’s budget to agricultural Development Bashir M
