Niger state police command has arrested nine armed robbery suspects for allegedly terrorising the people of Minna Bida and other parts of the state this month.
Parading the suspects before Newsmen at police headquarters Minna Police Public Relations Officer Niger state Command DSP Wasiu Abiodun said they were arrested following a tip off.
DSP Wasiu Abiodun explained that upon receipt of complaints of robbery attacks in some parts of Niger state the command swung into action and arrested nine suspects at different locations in Minna Bida Abuja and Sokoto state.
He said six vehicles were recovered during the operation while four of the vehicles are in Minna two of them are in Bida local government council of the state under police custody.
DSP Wasiu Abiodun said that four of the suspects that confessed to have participated in these robberies are Abdul Mohd Amos Oyerinde Yahaya Jibrin and Abubakar Sadik while Mohd Abdullahi Chibuzor Bernard Mohd Usman and Abdulrahman Ali are recievers and transporters of such vehicles.
He said the police also recovered one locally made revolver pistol one live ammunition of Ak 47 rifle ammunition and two empty shell of Ak 47 rifle.
Similarly he said the police has arrested a forty year old Festus Okeke of Ishau village at Kafin Koro in Paikoro local government council for allegedly luring four girls into his shop and have canal knowledge with two of them.
