NPC Covers 70% of EAD in Zamfara

The National Population Commission Said, it has covered Seventy percent of Enumeration Area Demarcation, EAD, in Zamfara State.

Federal Commissioner of the Commission in-charge of Zamfara State, Alh. Muahammad Muttaka Rini who gave the hint to Radio Nigeria in Gusau, said the 70% represents Ten out of the Fourteen local government areas of the State which were demarcated, saying the Commission has reached its current level of phase thirteen into the exercise being pursued as a preclude to the takeoff of the proposed National Census.

Alh. Muttaka Rini explained that, the Commission is sadled with the responsibility of towns demarcation, stock taking of number of household heads, which according to him will facilitate identification of each hamlet, village and towns to ease head count when the census commences proper.

According to him, this will assist in infrastructural development in areas of National planning, Education, Health, Agriculture among others.

He therefore added that, they share experience with Independent National Electoral Commission, Ministries of Education, Health, Budget and National Planning, Humanitarian Affairs and other Key Stakeholders in the areas of sustainable development and Social security.

The Federal government’s NPC was supported by Foreign Commonwealth Development Office, FCDO; UK-AID; UNICEF and other development partners.
