A renown NGO, UN-WOMEN has embarked on building the capacity of critical stakeholders in the Northeast on how to go about sensitizing communities spread across the front line states of Borno and Yobe on the issues of Gender Based Violence, ( GBV ).
The NGO is said to be targeting women who were ravages by the violence conflicts and COVID-19.
According to the Dr. Abiola Akinyode Afolabi, the Executive Director of the program, when you empower women you transform a nation.
Afolabi said, ” UN-WOMEN is poised to encourage women’s political engagement, women economic empowerment, women peace and security/humanitarian action.
Abiola said, ” the project intends to install rule of law and access to justice while strengthening women access to justice, adding that, the goal of the project is to train and build the capacity of women in Borno and Yobe to access rectitude.
