Niger state police command has paraded nineteen suspects for alleged vandalisation of rail tracks at Esheti Elegi village of Kateregi in Katcha local government council of the state.

Parading the suspects before Newsmen at police headquarters in Minna Police Public Relations Officer Niger state command DSP Wasiu Abiodun said that the police acted on a tip off.

DSP Wasiu Abiodun explained that seventeen persons were arrested this month when police patrol team was mobilised to the scene and intercepted three canter trucks loaded with rail tracks.

He said that three drivers were also arrested stressing that two of the trucks have registration numbers while one has no plate number with another empty truck awaiting it’s load.

Leader of the team Mohd Usman who regretted his action told Journalists that he was contracted by one Alh Idris from Kaduna for the job who is now at large.

The case is under investigation while the suspects will be arraigned in Federal High Court under miscellaneous offence act for prosecution.
