Parading the suspects before Newsmen in Minna Commands Public Relations Officer ASP Wasiu Abiodun said one Ak 47 rifle was recovered from the suspects together with one baretta pistol nine single barrel gun and one locally made short gun.

ASP Wasiu Abiodun explained that police operatives in Suleja attached to A division arrested one Abubakar Mohd aged twenty five of Eminence area roaming on Minna Suleja road.

During search he was found to be in possession of of one locally made pistol with two live cartridges and a jack knife.

Upon interrogation the suspect claimed to have bought the pistol from one Chukwuka of Ogbara village in Anambra state.

He also told Newsmen that based on credible information that suspected bandits kidnapped a victim at Babugi village in Mashegu Local Government Area a combined team of police and vigilante were mobilised to the scene and engaged hoodlums in a gun battle.

ASP Wasiu Abiodun however said that the victim was rescued unhurt while one of the hoodlums was fatally wounded and others escape with some bullet wounds.

According to him effort is on to arrest the fleeing suspects.

They will be charged to court as soon as investigation is completed.
