The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has arrested another drug trafficker at the Murtala Mohammed International Airport (MMIA), Airport Lagos, with 1.5 kilograms of Cocaine.
The suspect was arrested during the outward clearance of passengers on Emirates airlines to Dubai.
The NDLEA Lagos Airport Commander, Mr. Ahmadu Garba said, the suspect, Adeleke Kazeem Bola was intercepted at the departure hall of the Lagos airport with the hard drug neatly concealed in a false bottom of his travel bag.
He said the upsurge in the number of arrests was due to the non operation of flights and restrictions by some countries during the global lockdown last year which created some gaps.
According to him, the traffickers were trying to make up for lost times.
Mr. Garba stated that the series of arrests in the past three weeks follows the offensive action approach deployed by his command in line with the directive by the new Chairman of the agency, retired General Mohammed Buba Marwa.
