Kaduna State Police Command Arrests Seven Suspected Cattle Rustlers, Recovers 427 Rustled Domestic Animals

Kaduna State Police Command has arrested seven suspected cattle rustlers, and recovered four hundred domestic animals.

Spokesperson of the Command, ASP Mohammed Jalige disclosed this while parading the suspects and animals before newsmen at Jere Area Command Office in Kagarko Local Government Area.

ASP Mohammed Jalige explained that on the Twenty-second of this month, the Jere area commander received an intelligence report, informing him of the identification of four suspected rustled cattle in the possession of one Yusuf Muhammadu of Ganta village in Kachia LGA, who was about to dispose the said animals off.

He maintained that on receiving the report, detectives were immediately dispatched where they arrested the suspect and recovered the cattle, stressing that upon investigation, it was discovered that the cows were among the two hundred and seventeen rustled at Kengere village in Bauchi State.

The Spokesperson pointed out that the revelation prompted the command to deploy more operatives to recover the remaining rustled animals.

ASP Mohammed Jalige added that the owner of the said animals has since been identified, and the animals would be handed over to him, after an observed due procedures, while the suspects would be charged to court.

Speaking to Radio Nigeria, owner of the rustled animals, Ardo Baushi Buderi, expressed gratitude to the Police for the effort in the recovery of his animals.

A breakdown of the recovered four hundred and Twenty-seven animals indicated two hundred and eighty-seven cows, eighty-nine sheep, forty-three goats, five donkeys and three dogs.
