Fire outbreak at Jimo village of Kware LGA in Sokoto state

A mysterious fire outbreak at Jimo village of Kware LGA in Sokoto state has destroyed over ten houses leading to loss of properties worth hundreds of thousands of Naira.

Radio Nigeria in Sokoto reports that the fire which kept on spreading solely on thatched roofs continued to break out for three consecutive days after it started last monday.

Investigation reveals that even after victims of the inferno moved their unburnt properties to their relations houses at shiyyar arewa area of the village such properties were also gutted by the fire.

It also shows that the fire always lasted for about an hour before it was quenched on monday and tuesday, while it lasted for several hours last wednesday.

residents whose houses were raized by the fire were forced to settle on their farmlands located on the outskirt of the village even as the current harmattan continued to increase.

Confirming the incident, the councillor representing Jimo at Kware LGC Lauwali Magawata expressed the council’s sympathy to the affected households,and pledged to send staff to ascertain the level of destruction caused by the fire outbreak with a view to assisting them.
