Farmers in Nasarawa State have been advised to take full advantage of the different Federal Government aggro-based interventiins programmes to attain food sufficiency.

This they can do by forming strong farmers Associations to access the different agricultural loans of the Central Bank of Nigeria to grow their businesses. .

President of the CBN accredited Ekuun Entrepreneur Development Institute Mr. Tony Audu dropped the charge at a one-day seminar for integrated farmers, processors and marketers in Lafia, Friday.

According to Mr. Audu, the aim of the aggro-based development programmers of the federal government is to expand the economic base of the country through agriculture and enhance food security.

He therefore wondered why farmers in Nasarawa State are lagging behind among the states accessing agricultural loan facilities to boost food production.

Also speaking at the Seminar, chairman Benue state chapter of Maize Growers, Processors and Marketers Association, Mr. Gbenda Mathew Tersoo said with effective collaboration farmers in Nasarawa, Benue and Taraba states can effectively feed the whole Nigerian nation.

He therefore implored different farmers groups in the state to register with the CBN so as to access loans that will grow their respective agricultural passions.

Our correspondent reports that the Seminar brought together farmers and retired public servants in agricultural productions from across the state.
