COVID-19: 150 health workers have been tested positive in Nassarawa State

In Nasarawa State, Over 150 health workers have been tested positive for the second wave of Covid 19.

Commissioner for Health in the state, Mr Ahmed Baba Yahaya stated this at a three day workshop for medical doctors in Lafia the Nasarawa State capital.

The workshop was to train doctors on how to manage patients from their various homes who have been tested positive for the second wave of Covid 19 but are not showing symptoms as the only two isolation centred in the state were already overwhelmed.

Mr Ahmed Yahaya who pointed out that most of the affected health workers were doctors, said the workshop was part of the state government’s efforts towards mitigating the spike in the number of people tested positive for the Covid 19 in the state.

Chief Medical Director, Nasarawa State Hospital Management Board, Dr Edego Egba called on the health workers not be afraid but remain committed in their duties to save humanity.

He called on the participants to ensure new ideas learnt from the workshop were shared with their colleagues in their various facilities.

Director Public Health, Nasarawa State Dr Ibrahim Alhasan stated that over 100 doctors including Medical Superintendent of General Hospitals in the state were participating in the training.
