Borno state Governor Babagana Zulum has presented eight hilux vehicles to civilian JTF and vigilante groups in Hawul local government area of the state.
This is in fulfilment of his earlier pledge to strengthen the local security network following last Saturday’s attack on four communities of the area.
The Governor who was represented by his deputy Umar kadafur made the presentation of the patrol vehicles and other requirements to the Divisional Police Officer and leaders of the vigilante groups in Azare town, the head quarters of Hawul local government.
The Governor said the state government will not relent in it’s constitutional responsibility of protecting lives and property of the citizenry assuring to remain focussed until total peace is restored.
He appealed to the people in the area to remain united and assist the security agents with useful information on any suspicious person or movement they notice in the area.
Governor Zulum commended security operatives in the area for their effort in the fight against insurgency in the local government and promised of continued support.
He also promised that renovation of destroyed facilities, residential houses, shops and police station would soon commence .
The chairman of Hawul local government Alhaji Ibrahim Hassan thanked the state governor for fulfilling his promise to the vigilante group.
