The Minister of Humanitarian Affairs Disaster Management and social Development, Sadiya Umar Farouk says additional Five million pupils are to be included in the National Home Grown School Feeding Programme (NHGSFP) across the country.
Sadiya Farouk stated this during a stakeholder’s engagement on enumeration of beneficiaries and scaling-up of the Program in Bauchi.
Represented by the Director Humanitarian Affairs of the Ministry and Zonal Coordinator of the Programme Grema Alhaji Ali, the Minister who noted that the Programme aims to reach the targeted number of students to benefit from the daily breakfast meal by 2030, explained that so far over nine million pupils are benefitting from the Scheme nationwide.
In a remark, the Bauchi State Focal Person of the National Social Investment Programme, Hajiya Amina Katagum disclosed that a total of four hundred and forty four thousand pupils from twenty three public schools across the state are currently benefiting from the federal government feeding programme due to influx of people from various states.
Amina Katagum, reiterated commitment to include over eight hundred schools that were omitted in the programme.
