The Senate President, Ahmad Lawan has called for proper implementation of the National Policy on Refugees and IDPs.
He stated this today when he led some lawmakers to donate items worth 10 million naira to the IDP camp in WASA in the FCT.
Presenting the items the Senate President Ahmad Lawan said the gesture was part of activities to mark the two year anniversary of the Senate.
He stressed that the National Assembly will expedite action to pass the supplementary budget when presented by the Executive to provide more funds for the security agencies to fight insurgency and terrorism.
The minister of FCT Mohammed Bello said the camp is one out of the 24 IDP camps in the FCT ,catering for about 26 thousand people who were forced to take refuge there due to the insecurity in their states.
Some of the residents of the camp called for more incentives from well meaning Nigerians.
Some Item donated are food like rice,indomi,spaghetti items,wrappers and,toiletries.
