The Progressives Governors Forum, PGF, says the decision of the Governor of Cross River state Mr. Ben Ayade to join the APC is a testament of the party’s capacity to mobilise and unite all Nigerians.
The Forum stresses that the coming of Mr. Ayade into the APC further reinforces the process of membership and leadership recruitment at all levels.
A statement by the Chairman of the Forum and governor of Kebbi state Alhaji Atiku Bagudu, appreciates the leader of the party, President Muhammadu Buhari, whose sterling qualities and fair mindedness endeared patriotic Nigerians to the APC.
The statement says as Progressives Governors, they will remain steadfast in supporting the efforts and initiatives of rhe President to build the APC as the strongest political party in the country.
While welcoming Mr. Ayade’s courageous decision to leave the Peoples’ Democratic Party, (PDP), to join the APC, it assures party members of their right to aspire for any party position in the country.
It says given all his achievements as governor of Cross River State, Mr. Ayade is only coming home where he belongs, stressing that the party looks forward to receiving more defectors.
