In continuation of his contact strategy to security chiefs to improve the security situation in Yobe state, Governor Mai Mala Buni, met with the Commandant General of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Ahmed Abubakar Audi.
The release signed by Mamman Mohammed, Director General Press and Media Affairs to Governor Buni, indicates that the Governor and the Commandant General deliberated on the renewed attacks and the need for improved strategy to check the attacks on the border communities.
Governor Buni said, it has become worrisome that after enjoying relative peace across the state for some time, there is a renewed security breach which has displaced residents of Geidam and Kanama.
Governor Buni said, “We have to look inwards and work in synergy to check the attacks witnessed in recent times.
He added that “The state government is ever ready to support the security agencies to succeed”
The governor earlier yesterday met with the Chief of Army staff Gen. Ibrahim Attahiru.
It could be recalled that Governor Buni met the Chief of Defence Staff, Gen. Leo Iraboh last week on the security situation in the state.
