Nine persons have been killed and many houses burnt in a renewed bandits attack in Niger state.
The incident which occurred at Mairanda village in Mariga Local Government Council of the state left many people devastated.
Council Chairman Alh Idris Ibrahim T O who was looking disturbed said the attack has created tension and apprehension in the minds of people of Mariga local government also called for collective efforts at ensuring success in the fight against insurgency.
Secretary to the Niger State Government Ahmed Ibrahim Matane confirmed the incident to Radio Nigeria in a telephone interview.
Ahmed Ibrahim Matane however maintained that Niger State Government is not resting on it’s oars towards flushing out all forms of criminal elements in parts of the state.
All efforts to contact the police for comment has failed.
Meanwhile some Nigerlites have appealled to the Federal Government to as a matter of urgency come to their aid to ameliorate their hardship occasioned by incessant banditts attacks.
