A former Acting National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress APC, Chief Victor Giadom, has appealed to the people of Rivers State to participate actively in the ongoing APC membership revalidation and registration.
Speaking with journalists in Abuja, Chief Giadom explained that the Supreme Court judgment regarding the leadership of the party in the state had put to an end, issue of factionalization of APC in the state.
He said what the new united APC needed in the state was massive participation in party activities which was essential for victory in subsequent elections in the state.
The Supreme Court had on Friday last week affirmed the sacking of Igo Aguma as the chairman of the caretaker committee of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Rivers State.
The apex court’s decision also concurred with the Court of Appeal in Abuja which had sacked Mr Aguma and recognised the Isaac Ogbobula-led caretaker committee as the authentic leadership structure of the party in the state.
Reacting to the judgement, Chief Giadom, who revalidated his membership at Bera ward 16, in Gokana Local Government in Rivers state appreciated the judiciary for restoring the image and dignity of democracy in the Rivers State APC.
